I'm sure many of you have been involved in preparing a meal for a family in need. Whatever it is, be it illness, job loss, or just plain need, a home cooked meal is something truly appreciated by those on the receiving end.
I, along with many women, have been making meals for a family experiencing an illness. In the past, I would send an e-mail to those I thought would be interested and then create a schedule and e-mail it to everyone on the list. Because people are busy and take vacations there were always requests for specific days, so it took a little juggling.
One of the Moms forwarded to me a website called www.foodtidings. com
This website is fantastic and very user friendly.
The "organizer" signs up and enters pertinent information: the name of the family, address, best time to drop off food, any known allergies, etc., then goes to the calendar and enters the days that meals will be dropped off.
Then send an e-mail to those who are interested. All they have to do is go to the website, find the meal schedule for their particular family, pick a date, and enter what they will make. It's that easy! I think entering the meal is the best part as it avoids duplication of meals. Lasagna is great but not 5 days in a row!
