I know there are a lot of Active Rainers on LinkedIn and I'd like to connect with them there, especially the REMax agents. :) The problem is that many rainers that are on linked in have not joined any groups which makes it hard for another agent to connect with them.
Below are screen shots of the 2 possibilities you will see when you want to connect with someone. Notice the one on the right has "groups" which the one on the left does not. Under groups you will see a drop down menu of all the groups the person has joined. I look first for REMax groups, then active rain and the NAR or the Cleveland Area Board of Realtors.

If I select "colleague" I must indicate where we worked together which, 99% of the time will not apply
If I select "classmate", I must indicate where, which also usually will not apply
If I select "we've done business together" it may or may not apply, but usually not
If I select "friend" I MUST have an e-mail address, which I usually don't have
If I select "other", I MUST have an e-mail, which I usually don't have
Can't think of a reason I would select "I don't know this person"
So head over to linkedin and join a few groups, in particular ACTIVERAIN! Then we can all connect very easily. There are other advantages to joining groups but that is for another post!
