I have watched my daughter who is 14, play softball, since she was about 5 years and it is without a doubt my favorite pastime. She's become quite the pitcher and hitter over the years, often getting doubles and triples, and being the pitcher in the last inning of the championship game 2 years ago, which they won!
I look forward to it every year and this year will be no different, though much more challenging as she is now in the 14-18 league and the competition is pretty stiff.
But just like all city sports there are deadlines and for Broadview Heights they are as follows:
- For Broadview residents and rec center members only, registration is between Feb.1st and Feb. 28th
- Residents, members, and non-residents registration is between Mar. 1st and March 15th
- Though an extra diamond has been added this year, making a total of 8, this is a very popular sport, so please register early.
- Spots may be limited for non-residents
- No refunds after the registration deadline
- Registrations taken after the deadline will be subject to a $10.00 late fee and placement on a team is not guaranteed
- Practices begin in early May
- Games start after Memorial Day and go through July
- Age date is as of 8/1/09
