Barb Szabo's Blog: THANK YOU TO THE HUSBANDS, WIVES, AND SIGNIFICANT OTHERS OF REAL ESTATE AGENTS!

THANK YOU TO THE HUSBANDS, WIVES, AND SIGNIFICANT OTHERS OF REAL ESTATE AGENTS!

Any person who is a life partner with a realtor or is a son or daughter to them truly knows how much work a good real estate professional does.

So I'd like to publicly recognize my husband Lou, and my daughter Erin, but I'll try to be brief!

My husband Lou (for 24 years) has always been my "go to guy". He has supported me in real estate for over 22 years and not once has he ever doubted my ability to make it in this business. He's also helped with anything I ask of him.

LOU CAN YOU:

Help me put up a few extra open house signs?

Take the sign out of someone's yard?

Put a sign in someone's yard? (the ground is really hard)

Look something up on the computer for me? (on the road and before blackberrys)

Throw a quick dinner together? (I'll tell you how to do it)

Snowplow the driveway so I can get out?

I could go on and on but I think you get the idea!

And to my precious daughter Erin (14):

ERIN CAN YOU:

Get dinner started?

Takes some notes for me while we are in the car?

Staple this printout to that flier?

Stay out of trouble and do really well in school? (She does both)

GOD HAS TRULY BLESSED ME WITH THESE TWO PRECIOUS PEOPLE! SO...

loveTo Erin and Lou, thank you for everything,my love is yours forever!

Hi Barb.

Real estate is truly a family affair!

I have my two year old daughter getting started helping me.

Thanks for writing,

Ken

It's wonderful to see how much you appreciate your family and taking the time to recognize them really makes them special.  You are right we do owe a lot to our families for being supportive of us and our careers.  I'm going to have to take the time to thank my family.

Ken, I sold new construction for 10 years and during that time we built a home and my daughter was 6.  Someone asked her how the new house was coming along and she replied "o.k. but they haven't even started the drywall yet"! That really drove home for me how much my family is involved in my business.

Pat, Thanks for your comments and thank your family today!!

Isn't it great having 'free' assistants!  Unfortunately my 23 year old has other agendas, lol.

Kara, It IS great to have an assistant, but mine is much more interested and hanging with her friends.

Having a supportive family is soooo important. I do not know what I would do without my husband. My desire for a career in real estate started many years ago however I was unable to since my first husband was not an encouraging and supportive individual. After that marriage I met Michael and he wanted me to enroll right away, we were only dating at the time and now I have been licensed for 2 years and have been married for almost 1 year. I now have everything that I could dream of.
